New Delhi: There is no age to study. The true example is presented by Kartiani Amma of Kerala. 96-year-old Karthyayani Amma topped the Kerala Literacy Test with 98 percent. He topped the examination held in 5 levels-Class IV, VII, X, XI, and XII. Tell me, Amma has never gone to school. Yet he surprised people by topping them. Apart from them, 42 thousand children also passed the examination.
Kartiani Amma topped the score of 98 out of 100 in the ‘Aksharapalasamya’ literacy program of the Kerala State Literacy Mission. On November 1, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan honored him with the Certificate of Qualification in the Chief Minister’s Conference Hall. Speaking to NDTV, Amma said, “I knew more than I would study, my numbers would come.” He said – I used to see young children studying. I also wanted to study. When the children asked, why did not I say, I will also read.

Amma has so far studied up to the fourth grade. But he wants to study upto class XII. After that the computer also wants to learn. He said – After studying till 10th, I want to learn computer. In the free time, I will run the computer and type in the typing. When I was supposed to study then I could not. But I am happy that now I am completing my studies. Kartiani Amma is healthy at 96, but she does not forget to drink tea twice a day.
