Stock Markets: Sensex 568.00 and Nifty strengthen 173.95 points
On Friday, the rupee gained 31 paise to 73.14 rupees in the interbank currency market.
MUMBAI: There is a strong trend on Friday in the country’s stock market. The broader index of the Sensex rose by 568.00 in the morning at 34,999.97 and Nifty also jumped 173.95 points at the same time, trading at 10,554.40. The Sensex, based on 30 shares of the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), rose 311.98 points in the morning to 34,743.95, while the National Stock Exchange (NSE) 50-share Sensex index Nifty strengthened by 81.85 points to 10,462.30.
On Friday, the rupee gained 31 paise to Rs 73.14 per dollar on the Interbank Foreign Exchange market by falling above the seven-month low of crude oil in the global market and buying by foreign investors. Traders said the rupee was strengthened by the dollar’s weakness against the dollar and selling of the banks and exporters and weakening of the dollar against other major currencies. Brent crude dropped 3.48 percent to a seven-month low of $ 72.65 a barrel. On Thursday, the rupee strengthened by 50 paise to close at Rs 73.45 per dollar. This is the biggest one-day increase of rupees for the last three weeks.
